Polytunnel Construction Team Member
Location: Altham, with travel throughout the UK
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Approximately £30,000+ per year, paid hourly
Schedule: Monday to Friday
First Tunnels is a busy polytunnel company based in Altham. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our skilled construction team, helping to build domestic and commercial polytunnels across the UK.
About the role
You will work outdoors on a variety of construction projects, using hand and power tools to complete installations to a high standard.
The role involves regular travel and overnight stays, working away from home Monday to Friday, with early departures for more distant sites. Accommodation is provided, along with a nightly subsistence allowance. All protective clothing and tools are supplied.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions throughout the year.
- Can use hand and power tools safely and confidently.
- Is keen to learn and develop new skills.
- Can solve problems and organise work efficiently.
- Works well within a team and independently, using their own initiative.
- Can work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Has a positive attitude and a friendly, respectful manner.
- Holds a full driving licence; minor penalty points will be considered.
Working hours
Normal hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Overtime is required when working on site to meet project deadlines. Flexibility around travel, early starts and working away from home is essential.
