Domestic hinged door and outer frame

Create an entrance to your polytunnel with our Domestic Hinged Door and Outer Frame. Made from pressure-treated timber, as used in our Domestic Polytunnel range, it is available in 70cm Single, 90cm Wide and 140cm Double options.

Each door has a monofilament shade net panel in the top half, allowing ventilation even when the door is closed, and a polythene panel in the bottom half.

Outer end frame

The end frame uses 75mm × 47mm pressure-treated timber and comprises two 2.4m upright posts and a 1.6m lintel. The lintel needs to be cut to suit your chosen door width. A double row of timber battens is included to secure the main polytunnel cover to the frame.

Inner door

The inner door uses 47mm × 47mm pressure-treated timber, with two 1.8m upright posts and three cross pieces measuring 60cm (Single), 90cm (Wide) or 120cm (Double), depending on your chosen door width. A single row of timber battens secures the door panels to the inner door.

All timber is sourced from well-managed forests. First Tunnels is FSC certified.

Fitting your door frame

For an earth base, we recommend securing the end frame approximately 30cm into the ground. Before fitting, check that the remaining 2.1m post length reaches the hoop.

If it does not reach, you may need a horizontal rail beneath the hoop to attach the door posts to. You can configure a suitable rail on our Tube page.

Please note: P Clips for attaching the door posts to the framework are not included and must be purchased separately.

Customers in the Blue and Red areas with an order value less then £100, shipping costs will be £4.95.

For orders above £100, delivery is FREE. For customers in the Orange areas, shipping costs will be £80 for Eire and £30 for Northern Ireland, Isle Of Man, Guernsey & Jersey irrespective of order value.

Please note, the cost of £80 for customers in Eire includes a £50 customs clearance charge which we pay in advance on your behalf, ensuring there are no unexpected costs upon import.
